Mia E Göransson b. 1961

Biography

Mia E Göransson (b. 1961) lives and works in Gustavsberg, Sweden. She is educated at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, and was an Adjunct Professor at HDK in Gothenburg between 2011 and 2017. Previous solo exhibition venues include Ebelingmuseet, Eskilstuna (2024), Höganäs Museum & Keramiskt Center, Höganäs (2022), Fondazione Officine Saffi, Milano (2017), and Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum, Stockholm (2016). In recent years, Göransson's work has been part of group exhibitions at Liljevalchs Konsthall, Stockholm (2022, 2014, 2005), Clay Museum, Middelfart, Denmark (2019), MIC Faenza – International Museum of Ceramics, Faenza, Italy (2018), and The Nordic Craft Pavilion at Revelations, Grand Palais, Paris (2015). Other previous group exhibition venues include Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester; Crafts Council, London; Gustavsbergs Porslinsmuseum; Röhsska Museet, Gothenburg; and Waldemarsudde, Stockholm.

 

Göransson is represented in major collections such as Nationalmuseum, Stockholm; Röhsska Museet, Gothenburg; ASU Art Museum, Arizona; Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg; Malmö Konstmuseum, and Statens Konstråd / Public Art Agency Sweden.

 

In 2025, Göransson received The Swedish Arts Grants Committee's Grand Scholarship (Konstnärsnämndens Stora Stipendium).
