Amalia Bille | Bright Eyes Night

23 August - 22 September 2018
Overview

Amalia Bille explores the human and the existential, striving to visually interpret and display emotional states and moods that are difficult to define in any other ways. Her formative language is direct and simple, clearly influenced by expressionist painting. Bille’s work is characterized by the playful and the dreamlike, yet with somewhat unsettling undertones.

Amalia Bille lives and works in Mölndal, outside of Gothenburg. She is educated at Hovedskous Målarskola, and received a Bachelor’s degree in textile art in 2006 and a Master’s degree in ceramics in 2017, both from HDK (the Academy of Art and Design) in Gothenburg. Her work has been shown in several separate and group exhibitions and is represented in the collections of Statens Konstråd, Stockholms Läns Landsting, Västra Götalandsregionen, Linköpings Kommun, etc.
