During Stålhanes last years at Rörstrand, he made some of his best pieces. Far fram the slender vases in the 50's and the heavy rustic pieces from the sixties. In the early seventies, shapes became simple yet elegant. He used a brush to paint the abstract, Japanese inspired decors. I truly think that many of his best pieces were made during his last two years at Rörstrand in 1971 - 1973 This wonderful and unique stoneware vase was probably made in 1972, It is partly unglazed, with painted china blue, black and white glaze.
